Cracking 18 mile walk today at 0700 from Houghton (above Amberley) West Sussex. Followed the South Downs Way over to Chantry Post, then dropped south over Blackpatch Hill to Myrtle Grove farm. Turned west, passing around Harrow Hill on the western side, then continued across to Burpham village. Joined the path alongside the River Arun to return to Amberley and up to the car. What a glorious Sunday early morning walk.

Certainly was Bill, although it did cloud over about 4 hours into the walk. But, by the time I stopped for coffee, the clouds had opened a little and produced some more fine sunshine. Forecast is good for the Easter Weekend, so off for a long hike over the Dorset Coastal path up from Corfe Castle, plus a couple of shorter ones closer to home. Must do some home-industries though (grass cutting, window cleaning etc) , so cannot spend all weekend walking ................... but it is tempting!
