I have finally got around to loading a couple of walks I did in Carinthia in
July. They are nice and easy walks, but still great.
They take in quite a few 'huts' along the way so you don't need to pack
heavily with food or drink. In fact I have been known to host a few high
altitude pub crawls along these routes :-) Not advisable also to do this
and drive down the mountain afterwards though :-s
I really hope you like this quiet area of Austria off the beaten track of
the usual Tyrol and Nassfeld areas. The people are great and the food and
drink is excellent. In winter the skiing is cheap on the Koralpe (we pay
around 40-50 euros for the whole family for a day pass) and the slopes are
empty. Not many brits around - mainly locals, dutch and the odd german.
More Hungarian tourists were there last year.
