I've never heard of them.

Let me get this straight... The Department of Agriculture said something. Later on, an obscure
"prestigious" organization with no relation to the D of A said something contradictory.

The is not a *very* significant development. It's not a *significant* development. It's not even a
development.

why can't americans exercise common sense and stop eating meat. you don't need a physician advice on
it. doctor's advice on this is no more necessary than telling one not to drive after drinking.

You are right. Actually, most physicians in the US didn't even study nutrition for more than a
semester or so during school. But Americans need a seal of approval on almost everything -- even
Janets's breast baring at the Super Bowl must be approved or disapproved by a government agency.

It wasn't bare. It was covered as necessary by law.

Could be since they number only about 8,000 allopathic medical doctors, a mere 1% of those
so educated.

It is a significant development when approximately 8000 allopathic medical doctors tell you
something. Especially when they say that meat is not only not necessary for health and vitality but
may well be detrimental to your health.

You can get 1% of any profession to agree to something wrong, at least if it's not glaringly obvious
that it's wrong. 1% of a professional population is a fringe group, whether it's 1% of 800,000 or 1%
of 80,000.
