Hi, I wanted to share a habit of mine with you, to question it.
I sometimes eat just before training. Weights or bike of course, I cannot run or swim after eating. When I say eating, I mean eating. I eat a full lunch and I am off to weights or to my bike 10 minutes after eating. I do not feel any discomfort or anything.
Is there any physiologic reason against doing this? Is it ok to do it as long as my body allows me?
Thanks for any thoughts. -- Burak please remove Dot NOREPLY Dot to reply

My theory is that it is good to train the body to be able to handle this, but then I have to because I am a diabetic and cannot carbohydrate load before the event. I eat bread and cheese before swimming at 5:45 am and often bike after a full lunch. I think the risk is that what works at moderate intensity may not work at high intensity, when less blood goes to the digestive system.

That is exactly what I think. I do not bike at high intensity after eating, but weights are another matter. It should be done at maximum effort (arguably) to gain, so it may be that I am not realizing my full potential there. But, then again, the weight and reputations I use when I eat and do not eat before does not change. So this theory may also be wrong. -- Burak please remove Dot NOREPLY Dot to reply
