Just wondering how many rbm'rs rode El Tour on Saturday. There was
record registration of almost 8000 riders for the various events and
the unofficial results show almost 4000 finishers in the 109 mile
event. The weather was perfect with the absence of significant wind. As
usual a cold start (mid 40's) but as soon as the sun came up it warmed
quickly but never got hot.
While billed as a ride many folks do treat this as a race and it is a
mass start event. There are always some top name pros but this year the
"winner" was a local. Of course many (most) of us are racing only for
a specific personal goal.
The ride is extremely well supported and most riders are just out for a
nice day. I hope folks from out of town had a great time.
