  1. My father is rapidly losing weight all the time, is 70 y.o., no doctor seems able to figure it out
or help him. does anyone know what the cause may be, and what tests they should run on him ?

    thanks, desperate and worried.

I asked the same question here about my mother a couple of months ago and got back some of good
responses. One thing you might wish to watch is vitamin and mineral (especially calcium) intake and
    have supplements if necessary.

Depression is one possible cause. Another is that the food can become totally tasteless - like
cardboard - as we get older. You might try to find some kind of food he likes, even if it is
    hamburgers, French fries, or milkshakes.

There are a lot of internal possibilities. Have you seen a gastroenterologist?
