just bought Elite's new trainer, they designed it to have twice as power as the old generation, and its damn true. All of their Crono's frame design takes account of the riders weight and that is also true. The problem is that i'm a heavy rider and not a competing cyclist, so i have to use the trainer with a 39 x 25 !! for an endurance 90 rpm cadence and 75% HR training session, as opposed to a 39 x 14/15 with the old Elite Fluid that i had. Now I get the sensation that my pedalling is not round and even, because of the units resistance.
Customer service answered me that to equal power/cadence both trainers would provide the same smoothness on pedaling but i would hesitate to recommend this powerhorse trainer to out-of-shape cyclists or people new to cycling.
