Victorians are now well serviced by endurance races, and two of the biggest have thrown open the inter-web portal for entry to the '05 editions.

The Melbourne 12hr goes around (and around and around) on September 17th. Entries have been open for a couple of weeks now and the field is already over a 1/3 full!!!! So don't delay!

The Kona 24hr is now a plot for WORLDWIDE DOMINATION by the Kona guys - it forms a series in tandem with two other 24hr races in Europe and North America.

The third edition of the Australian race is on at Redsdale, north of Melbourne, in early December.

If you're wondering if these kind of races really are up your ally - they are. Mountain bike endurance racing is one of the few forms of competition where a punter taking it easy can be on the same track at the same time as an Olympian. The hallmark of these events is the shared experience, not the rivalry.
