Hello Everyone,

Can anyone help me regarding the following questions?

Name the regulatory enzyme in the following metabolic pathways-

a. Bile acid synthesis.
b. Citric acid
c. De novo synthesis of palmitate.
d. Urea cycle.
e. a^ - oxidation of fatty acids.
f. Glycolysis.
g. Cholesterol synthesis.
h. Pyrimidine biosynthesis.

I am also trying to find outthe answers, but if anybody knows the

Biochemistry homework?

The first link after entering <"bile acid" +synthesis +"regulatory enzyme">
in google gives:

"Two key regulatory enzymes in the bile acid biosynthesis pathway are
cholesterol 7alpha-hydroxylase/CYP7A1 (7-hydroxylase) and sterol
12alpha-hydroxylase/CYP8B1 (12alpha-hydroxylase). [...]"

You will most probably find the others in the same manner.

Hello,

I got the answers.Thank you very much for your reply. I could not get
the answer for the first question only. You helped me get it. Thank you
once again.
The answers are as follows,

i) Cholesterol 7 alpha hydroxylase &
Sterol 12 alpha hydroxylase.
ii) Citrate synthase, isocitrate dehydrogenase and alpha keto glutarate
dehydrogenase.
iii) acetyl CoA carboxylase.
iv) Carbomoyl phosphate synthetase I
v) Delta^3 cis or Delta^2 trans enoyl CoA isomerase and 2,4 dienoyl CoA
reductase.
vi) Hexokinase, phosphofructokinase - I and pyruvate kinase.
vii) 3-hydroxy 3-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase(HMGR)
viii) Carbamoyl phosphate synthetase-II

Thanks & Regards,
Kiru.
