Ergo 9 spd convert to 10?

Does anyone know for certain whether it is possible to convert a 9spd record titanium ergo shifter to 10 spd ergo? I am not sure of the vintage of the ergo shifter, but it does have a pointed rather than rounded front (where the non-aero cable would exit in the old days).
