I may have missed a reference to this somewhere but if not, Excess
Baggage on R4 on Saturday featured three long distance cyclists. A
retired headmistress who has cycled round the world twice, once each
way. A bloke who shadowed the TdF. And, a bloke who cycled down France
alone after his mate wussed out on day two, he as so enthused he's now
planning a culinary cycle ride around America (the whole (or is is both)
continent(s)).

Probably available on Listen Again till next Saturday.

I caught the programme on Saturday and thought it was a fine piece. All
very positive about the joys of cycling and how all that most people
need is the will to do it. I was particularly taken with Anne Mustoe
saying she did not get involved in lots of training for her ride around
the world. She just set off, getting fitter as she went along.
