Expedition tents

  1. We're inthe process of replacing the expedition tents used
    by our Scout group and I'd like the opinion of the group as
    to which models to go for. Requirements are for an
    expedition grade tent, 3 person sleeping capacity, some
    rucksack space. These tents will only be used on expeditions
    in mountainous areas (we have other tents fo more static
    camping) so things like weight and ability to stand up to
    weather are important). I'd expect the budget to run to
    around £300 per tent and we're looking for 5.

    All recs/comments appreciated.

    I have heard good things about the Aztec Duro but have not
    seen one myself. The Plus version is a 3 person 4 season
    tent but is perhaps a bit heavy at just over 5kg. However it
    is only about £160 and the heavier construction my be more
    suitable for your clientele than the super light
    construction featured in the more expensive and lighter
    competition.
