  1. I'm looking for a pair of long (> 7 inches) handlebar grips for a mountain bike

    anyone know where I can find some?

    Yes, get "Grab-On" Maxi Grips. These are intended for drop handlebars, come in a set of 4. I like
    these for mtb bars 'cause I like to mount the brake levers well inboard and have lots of grip space
    to put my hands in close for the road, wide apart for off road.

    Yup, didn't know the name of 'em, but bought some a long time ago for my mtb.

    The *short* ones (sort of tapered w/bulges) are TOO padded, IMO, and tend to slip if they get wet.
    Avoid those and opt for the "straight gauge" kind that the Master has suggested. (Even those are too
    thick for many people; buy 'n try!)
