Rare and beautiful Team Raleigh professional racing bicycle from the late
1970's / early 1980's. Thoroughbred British-Italian racing machine, Raleigh
Model DL185.

Relisted because of a scamming "buyer".

Raleigh ran up a string of successes including world's championships in 1978
and 1979 and the Tour de France in 1980. The Team Raleigh was a
no-compromise, professional racing machine which proved that steel could
hold its own against exotic materials. Frame material is Reynolds 531 double
butted tubes, forks and stays, with Campagnolo Frame Ends. Lugs are hand
profiled spearpoint, Latin Line. The fork is Reynolds taper gauge 531 with
integral sloping forged crown and Campagnolo ends. You could have any color
you wanted, so long as you wanted Team Raleigh. The frame size is 23.5
inches, or 60 cm. The serial number on this frame is SB 259 59-5. The
Raleigh was made to be raced hard and it did so very successfully.

I've added some items to the stock Team Raleigh bicycle, including Cinelli
alloy handlebars with Almarc integral leather wrapping, drilled Campagnolo
brake levers with rubber covers (deteroriating a bit), and new (put in
within the last year, and never used) Michelin XA racing tube tires on Mavic
MA rims. Also included are the original MAVIC sew-up rims, so you can go
back to those for historical accuracy if you wish. When I had the
switch-over done from sew-up to tube tires, I had the shop do a complete
maintenance on the bike as well, lubrication, cleaning, etc.

It's a 12-speed configuration, with a Campagnolo Super Record 12-speed rear
shifter set and a light alloy & steel close-range rear cluster. Other
components include Brooks Professional Team Special leather saddle and
Campagnolo seatpost, Campagnolo sew-up tire pump, Campagnolo Super Record
crankset with Titanium Axle and Cups, 53 - 42 Chainrings and 172.5mm Cranks,
Regina D'Oro chain, Campagnolo shift levers, Campagnolo handlebar stem
(flush allen key bolt), Campagnolo chromed forks, Campagnolo Super Record
brakes with drilled and lightened levers, Campagnolo Super Record hubs,
Campagnolo Super Record pedals with titanium spindles , light alloy rail,
and Campagnolo toe clips with leather straps.

Other accessories included are the original Raleigh water bottle with holder
(brazed-on cage bosses, chrome cage and plastic bottle), a CycleTron bicycle
stand for working out indoors, an Entex Bicycle Computer with mounting clamp
and operation manual (may not work, haven't checked out in a number of
years, the Entex is sold as-is), and the original Raleigh Derailleur
Bicycles Operation Manual!

All in all, this is close to one of the finest examples of a classic racing
bicycle frame made of Reynolds 531, with all Campagnolo components, and
brand new Michelin tires and Mavic rims, along with the original sew-up
rims. Total Weight is about 20 pounds.
