  1. I picked up a hub on eBay recently that came with an off-brand 8sp
cassette included. When I took it out of the box, I was unsurprised
to see a decal on the lockring that said TAIWAN FALCON I G S, but when
I peeled the label off I found a bit of a surprise underneath...

I would not be surprised if the only part of the assembly that's SRAM
is the lockring itself, but I'm a little surprised that SRAM shipped
them with their logo present. Anybody else run into this?

SRAM making parts for Falcon? Don't you think it's more likely that
Falcon is making parts for SRAM? Perhaps they made more SRAM lockrings
than SRAM ordered and decided to use them in their own cassette.

Or more likely the subcontractor who makes that lockring
makes it for a lot of customers, Falcon, SRAM, etc.

That's possible, I suppose. On closer inspection, the SRAM name is
also on a label. I haven't peeled it to see what, if anything, might
    be under *that*.
