  1. In response to item 2.12 in the FAQ I'd like to share the following. I finally convinced a couple of
my friends to get their old mtn bikes out & come for a ride. At first it, they were both off &
walking at anything remotely technical, but after a while the guy was starting to warm up and had a
go at a tricky little climb. He came off and the result as follows...

    au.geocities.com106 0620 IMG.jpg

The gash is about 2 inches long and continues another 2 inches under the skin . He rode out OK
(apparently there's no many nerves in that area of the [censored]), but is not enjoying having to have the
wound repacked every couple of days to ensure it heals from the bottom to avoid infection.

It should leave a really cool scar. Get his 'ass' out for another ride.

Ah, that's just an itty bitty flesh wound.

I need to stop following these links. At least as long as I'm a bit queasy from this cold.

Dare I ask why it looks like that? I mean, I've had stuff look yellow and [censored] a few days after
an injury, but that looks pretty fresh ...

Aren't those fat cells? (the yellow stuff)

FWIW: This gory stuff doesn't affect me. A friend of mine who was a plastic surgeon showed me a
series of photos taken during a long, complicated reconstructive surgery. They basically took the
patient's entire head apart (skin off the bone, jaw removed), added a ton of prosthetic parts, and
put it all back together again. It was absolutely bizarre, and completely fascinating.
