One of the great artists of the 20th Century passed away yesterday. Lucianno Pavarotti the great "spinto" lyric tenor died of cancer at age 71. It has been said that 20th century tenors began with Caruso, and ended with Pavarotti, and while there were many other fine ones, no others were their equals.

Pavarotti was always a fine diplomat for the world of opera, appearing world wide. He enjoyed performing with artist of other music forms such as Bono, James Brown, Lou Reed, and Trisha Yearwood to name just a few.

His soaring effortless voice, and great personality will be greatly missed.

And farewell to culture as well? Instead of mourning the death of amazing artists like the great tenors who sang of the sadness and beauty of life, often bringing themselves to tears with the emotion they felt while singing; future generations will be mourning the death of Snoop Dog and Eminem who sang about hating their mothers and beating their bitches... :(

Yeah, I know, I know... But you know what I mean.
