  1. I have read and done the Fat Flush Plan which sounds like such a fad
diet but it really makes a lot of sense and really does get the fat
    out of the middle.
I have felt so good eating this way. I have been as much as 35 lbs
overweight in my life. I think my food addiction came from alcoholism
on my father's side of the family.
Any way, on the fat flush you can have fruit in between meals. My
cholesterol went down 24 points and I had 2 eggs every day for 4
    months.
I have hot water with a half of the juice of a lemon each morning.
Supposedly it helps detox the liver. If the liver is working right you
will metabolize food better. ( i am no doctor just parroting what I
read) All I know is I feel a lot bettter
I did lose the weight I wanted and now I eat a modified form of the
    Fat Flush.
I have started working with a personal trainer and she says that
cardio for 30 min. 5 times a week is more important than weight
training if you would like to lose weight.

Just some random thoughts on kind of low carb eating.

by the way, my blog is about painting food not eating it 🙂

Gosh, the big 35 pounds overweight! And, of course you have an addiction to
food--the alternative is called "death." And, it certainly has nothing to
do with what you eat or how little you exercise! It's all your father's side
of the family's fault (why didn't I think of this one before!)

Everyone here is sooooo proud of you!

Not only are you not a doctor--you don't even think before you say/write
something! Why on earth you think the lemon juice and water would even reach
the liver, in its present state, I have no idea. And why does the liver need
    to be "detoxed"? Oh, that's right--It doesn't!

All I know is I feel a lot bettter

I am afraid to tell you all the weight you lost was gray matter....

What a gem! Does she just parrot what she hears, too? You two make a great
    pair!

Oh yes, and we all thank you. I know I got something out of your post. I
    laughed for about 10 minutes.

  3. I'm not much into fad type stuff myself. I did change my meat, chicken, etc
to hormone free sources to ease up on my liver, which used to be pretty bad.
I do all my food shopping at Whole Foods, which is a great supermarket...all
organic. I was diagnosed with fatty liver disease, my levels were triple
the normal levels. But with the diet change, exercise (as much as I can
tolerate anyways) and choosing good wholesome food, it seems to have done
the job of getting them back into check. I guess I'm more into trying to
establish a routine that will get me to where I need to be for life. But
hey, whatever works, that's my motto:-)

I've heard physical trainers say both. In fact we just had a physical
trainer come speak at our local weightloss surgery support group and he said
the opposite. Had some choice opinions about curves too....lol I just think
that folks need to do whatever helps them the most. If cardio helps you
lose weight then go with it. If weight training does the trick well then go
for it. I think the most important thing is to figure out what works for
you the individual and just stick with it long enough to know if it's the
right routine for you or not:-) I think most folks give up too soon on any
given weight plan, go back to old habits, etc. Honestly it took me years to
figure out my own needs. I would go so far as to say it's been the hardest
thing of my life to figure out. Hopefully I'll continue on this good path
for myself:-) I encourage everyone to do the work that it takes no matter
HOW long it takes, to find the right way of eating that will help them be
optimally healthy. Ain't no short cuts. Even the gastric by pass I had
wasn't a get outta jail free card.......it simply gave me another tool in my
search for understanding of how my body utilizes food.

Ask her which is better for your longevity.
