Yep, I've gone completely daft - I participated in my first BHPC race yesterday on my Greenspeed
GTO. At Manchester Velodrome no less.

OK, so my fastest lap was 37 seconds, about half the speed of the really fast people, and trikes and
banking really aren't the best combination, but I had fun. And since I qualify for the Open,
Unfaired, Multitrack and Ladies classes, that's four separate last places to aspire to :)

Roll on Eastway!

Well, it only costs £10 a year to join the BHPC and you don't even have to be a member to race -
just turn up on the day and pay the race fee.

You don't *have* to be a Darksider either - your velocipede just has to be UCI illegal, which, let's
face it, isn't hard....

There's a list of this year's events at :-

http://www.btinternet.com/~John.Olson/bhpc/events03/events03.html

although yesterday's was the only velodrome race, all the rest are on outdoor circuits.

Or try www.bhpc.org.uk for everything you would want to know about the club and it's
daring exploits.

Manchester results on the website sometime tonight.
