Fefferoni! At last!

Finally found a supply.

Saffron Market at the corner of Frank Lloyd Wright and the Loop 101 in
Scottsdale.

It's a couple of doors down from the Callebaut store. I happened to be
in the neighborhood, stopped into C's to get a truffle fix, then just
before getting back in the car said "what the heck" and popped into
Saffron's to see what it was.

Lots of Arab/Middle-Eastern/Mediterranean-type foods.

Ironically, I didn't run across any saffron, but I was just browsing.

I did, however, make a special check around the pickled items for
Fefferoni peppers, and almost jumped when I saw them.

I got two fat little jars, just like the one here, in the middle, being
guarded by its lesser brethren:

Sounds interesting, as I've never had them. I'll have to make a trek up
there from Apache Junction to "explore".

These, it turns out, aren't as spectacular as I've had. The ones I
remember taste like pepperoni. These seem a bit closer to spicy
pepperoncini. Still pretty good, though.

Bummer. I know what you mean - you've got a hankering for something that
you haven't had in years and think you may have found it... Glad they were
okay though. Let us know when you do find ones like you were wanting. They
sound divine.

I like their Ajvar (red pepper paste). Makes a good spread for
all types of sandwiches.
