Are we talking about nails that are longer than necessary for decorative effect? If so, they should
be trimmed back to normal, because long nails are dangerous in a swimming workout. Since her
toenails are also affected, I assume we are not talking about nails that are unnecessarily long. In
that case, I've never seen this problem, and I suspect a vitamine, mineral, or amino acid
deficiency. I would ask a skin doctor or dietician for advice.

  3. Her nails grow when she has her annual 3-4 week break..otherwise she cant remember the last time she
had to cut them. They stay short. "Helen Manont" <[email hidden]> wrote in message

  4. That's a little odd.

Personally, I find that hard workouts make nails & hair grow faster. If I have a rest day, I can
almost skip a day shaving. If I do a 100+ miles on the bike, then I have serious stubble by the time
    I go to bed.

I'm not in the pool as much as your daughter, so I can't say if it's the chlorine or something.

    Alan.
