IIRC, there was a female above-the-knee amputee who finished Ironman
Wisconsin in 2004. This article is about the first to finish IM Hawaii.
If I'm right about this, it's pretty disingenuous to say that this
person is the "First Female Above-Knee Amputee Ironman."

I doubt that it was intentional. I have gotten used to reading
triathlon news from journalists and bloggers that are less informed
than the average triathlete.

I recall you have been around the block more than a few times. So you
must have noted that not even a room full of *triathletes* can agree on
a strict definition of what an "Ironman Finisher" is. ; )
