Well done Helen. Wonder when the loss of insulation effect kicks in? I've
lost 61 lbs since start of May, and I'm not yet feeling any significantly
colder than I did before. Or maybe it's an absolute thing and if I were
your size I'd be cold - I've got a further 60 lbs to loose and must be a
good deal larger than you.

Well done you! You've managed to lose a lot so far too! Hurrah for us! :)

Went to WW this evening - another 1.5lbs lighter and am now within a
tantalisingly short distance of a healthy BMI which is where I can set a
goal weight. More hurrahs! Came out of WW & *froze* in the night air. Back
home the heating is on full blast & I'm sipping hot spicy tea to feel warm.

Mind you, I went shopping today & tried on a dress. It was a lovely dress.
Black velvet creation & it was adorable. Tried it on and all the old *fat
phobia* came flooding back. I loathed myself in it. Bah! I have to
constantly remind myself of just what I have lost and thus gained. If you
see what I mean.

I don't get this. Why don't you set your goal now? Mine is a size 12, and
I know that equates to somewhere around 8 and a half stone, around the
middle of the recommended range for my height. No way am I going to make it
to the bottom end of that range which is all of 7 stone! BMI is still
depressingly in the obese section and will stay that way for a while; I need
to lose a further 19 pounds to make it down to 'overweight'. Still I
started out well in the morbidly obese section.

It just wasn't that cold here. I came out of swimming lessons at 9:15 pm
and rode home with wet hair, but Aldis cycling longs, a polo neck jumper a
winter jacket and a pair of mid weight gloves kept me warm.

No, not really. There's a midnight blue velvet dress at the back of the
wardrobe for which I am still one size too big. My current aim is to be
able to wear it to the company Christmas party in early December, as I know
I look good in it. Unfortunately I suspect it will fit in January, which is
a spectacularly useless month to have a good party dress!

I can't get over how I look now compared to how I was, so I'm pleased when
I try things on, especially when I can get the zip up on the next smaller
size pair of jeans. I've been haunting the local charity shops for bargains
and picking up a few cheapies at Tesco and the like. I don't want to spend
much on clothes I hope will be too big in a few months. The only things
I've spent more than a few pounds on are swimming costumes (anyone know
where to find cheap ones?) and bras, because the cheap ones just aren't
comfortable.

Not sure yet *where* in the healthy BMI range I want my goal to be. It's
going to be at the upper end, rather than the lower end, but can't make my
mind up on figure yet. I won't set it as a specific clothes size as they
vary from make to make.

You would be better off using body fat percentage as a guideline
rather than BMI.

WW, as many other organisations use BMI, so I'm tied to that in setting a
goal weight. And as I cycle a lot, hence have more toned muscle than those
wot divvint exercise, I'll be setting my goal weight at the upper end of the
healthy BMI range
