I am looking at buying my first road bike, and wanted some advice on the best purchases less than £500 (ideal purchase price is around the £300 mark however I am open to suggestions - obviously in most case the more you spend the better the bike)
I am based in the UK, and all forums previously read have pointed towards the Triban range at Decathlon - the question is 'which one?' as there are a mix of reviews.
My bike experience is currently limited to bike rides circa 10-20 miles on a bike not is fit for purpose (bought for less than £200 3 years ago), however I have commited myself to a C2C bike ride for charity in June 2015 and my current bike will not cope.
Training rides will be upwards of 70 miles so it needs to be capable of doing this without causing to much discomfort, whilst obviously falling into the required price range.
