First set of clipless pedals

I bought my first set of clipless pedals. Crank Bros. Eggbeater C. Awesome design and simplicity. I love them so far. One rookie clipless pedal question tho...should they be making creaking noises with every stroke? Wasn't sure if this was normal or if there is some unnecessary binding going on with the cleats. I have Specialized Sport MTB shoes. The clearane to the soles seems fine..i get the appropriate amount of float. Just wanted to make sure this is normal....or not.

Never used eggbeaters, but a creaking noise is definitely not a normal thing. Look pedal 'clips' often squeak because they rub against the shoe sole, might be a similar problem (eggbeater users, please tell us!).

I use Eggbeaters, and they definitely don't make any noise like that.
