Fit disk brake to conventional hub?

Hi folks

After hearing good stories about the Avid BB7 disk brakes, I'm wanting
to fit one on the front of my MTB. My problem is I have a beautiful
Chris King conventional hub that I don't want to throw away. Someone
said there is a way to fit a disk adapter to an old school hub, through
the spoke holes. I've not been able to find such a thing on the net.
Can anyone give me a lead, please?

From Michael Dart's link it looks like you will need to rebuild the
wheel and use a different spoke length. You could get a Hope XC hub for
$44 from Jenson and not bother with a hack like that adapter. This is
an excellent trouble free hub. BTW, forget about the BB7 and get
Shimano XT's. A store on eBay sells new take-offs for $189 a set, fully
assembled. These are lightweight hydraulics and a substantial upgrade
over BB7's. I know because I used BB7's for four years and just bought
a set of XT's. These are very sweet hydros, and I'm no Shimano fan.

I put an Avid BB7 on my bike the other day. I should have done it ages
ago, it's great! I built up a new wheel with a new Shimano XT hub.

Thanks for the input so far - good advice. I suppose I could use the
Chris King on another bike!
