Thank you everyone who offered suggestions on how to find a bike that fits. After getting fit-kitted
I learned that my torso is shorter than usual, and my legs longer than usual for a short guy. Which
explains why I always felt too stretched out on every bike I had tried. The folks on this newsgroup,
and Mark Hickey, suggested I look at women's-specific frames. After test-riding a few, I found a
nice little 51cm Specialized Allez Dolce that rides like a dream and climbs beautifully. I'm a happy
guy. And it doesn't even look like a "girl's" bike! If only it was red!
Now, to figure out what to do with the upgrade components I bought and put on my old road bike
frame. Be right nice to find a beater road frame that better fits me that I could turn into a
rainy day bike!
