  1. big hello to teh forum looks great hope you can awnser my noob questions for me 😉

ok got and old gt bike decided would fit some new breaks. just some shimano deor m510 basic ones nothing flash. anyway simple i thought
undone front brake bolt removed old v break. stuck on new shimano brake and it dont fit??? it dont slide allway down the shaft bit.
the shaft gets bigger nearer the base wich the old break allowed for.
the new brake also allows for this but to a lesser depth so that when you tighten the bolt holding the brake on it is still about 3mm off.

soo how come. i thought brakes were a straight swap ??? dint see anything when buying about certain fit size ?

is there another part i need to buy ?
