I've recently replaced some Tufo tubs with some nice Vittoria Open Corsas. Problem is that they do not sit fully down onto the rim at the valve (I'm using Vittoria rim cement).
The tubs are bulged a bit around the valve hence they don't seem to seat on the rim properly because they foul on the valve hole. I've used Conti's before and had no problems in this regard. The old Tufo's that came with the wheels sat perfectly on the rim around the valve hole.
I removed the Vittorias and reglued them pulling them as tight as possible when I fitted them. I even put some zip ties around the rim to hold the tub down tighter around the valve whilst the glue set.
They appear to be glued on well enough and they are true on the wheel but it just annoys me that they are not perfect. I've filled the small gap with more cement.
Any thoughts before I consider changing them for something else?

Vittoria makes great tubs. What rims are you using? You can always hog out the valve hole in the tire bed, a bit, to give some clearance. Just make sure to take the edge off the newly enlarged hole.
Usually such a problem is the result of someone not pulling on the tire hard enough as they go around the rim, but you said you addressed that.

The rims are Planet-X carbon (82mm front, 101mm rear). The bulged area around the valve is a bit large for hogging out the valve hole on the rims. My LBS only stocks Conti's so I can't get to see another set of Vittorias to see if I've just got a duff set. Is there any websites that show pictures?

Do you mean a host site wherein you can post piccies that you snapped of the problem tire?
FYI, your problem is one reason I always mount the tubie, unglued, on the target rim, and then inflate it. This allows me to see if there might be a tire problem that requires the return of the tire to the dealer.
