Yes have had that happen before on my previous station dog on the front
with just one ring; but have never dispensed with the whole derailleur.
Problem with the bike is the stop for the derailleur has worn away and
it keeps pinging forward so the chain is loose, and a single speed
seemed the simplest solution. Will have a play around, thanks.
