Anyone use this stuff and any comments on it and similiar products? I
always felt if the bike fit well there would not be undo preassure on the
hands but I'm always open to wasting more money ;)

Great, more about damping road buzz felt through my steel fork.

Wew sell it and it seems to do what it is supposed to, make the hbar
cushier, not much more.

No magical properties of taking away road buzz, etc.

If road-buzz bugs you, try slightly wider tires at lower pressure. A
couple millimeters of more width gives 10% or more air volume to soak
up buzz.

I do like padding on the top of the bars, though. It's as much to give a
larger platform for my hands as trying to soften anything. I use old foam
grips, cut in half, but the gel stuff shouldn't be too bad for the same
purpose.

Some places you don't want gel (like in shorts -- yech), but here it
should be OK.

That's why I like my ITM Wing Shape bars:

Nice wide semi-flat top section.

They're okay, but the Specialized Bar Phat works better because it's less
viscous. Less pressure, happier hands.

Hey! That's sensible, practical advice. It ain't high-tech, there's no
web page, nothing to chat about at the latte stop and no one makes any
money! Cut it out!! ;-)

Whatever dude. I have to ask, based on the exchange below, who's the
blowhard?

I gotta try those or something like them some time. I don't like gushy bar tape
and cushions, but a bit more comfort is always welcome.

I run Conti Contacts on that bike, wide enough already thankyou.
Its only on especially coarse tar, just happens to be on my daily
commute.
I could wear gel gloves but I hate the feel of bulky palms.
The bar padding works for me and thats all that really matters.

I haven't tried either of these bars, but I think I would want a wider
section at the "corner" nearer the brake levers. My padding extends all
the way to the hoods, which is nice. Besides, with these bars, not only
are they expensive, but you need to replace your stem.
