Hi
Are there any pedals with float that will fit mountain bike shoes and cleats? I have shimano 51 cleats and wellgo pedals at the moment.
Thanks

Most, if not all, clipless mountain bike pedals have some degree of float. It varies per manufacturer.

Sorry to be such a noob when it comes to this, but can someone please clear up what "float" is for me. Thanks

It is the amount of lateral movement that the shoe has when clipped into the pedal. Often ranges on the look-type pedals from about 3 degrees up to 6 degrees with a few outliers (I"ve seen one with 9 degrees). Speedplay has float up to around 30 degrees if I am not mistaken.

So, basically, it's how much you can move your foot side to side when clipped in.
