Recommendations for a floor pump?

For a road bike (primarily), so high pressure.

You know, I want it all: easy to pump, high pressure, stable and wide
base, durable, inexpensive.

I love my Silca goes to over 200 PSI (Don't know the pressure in Bars)

Keep the leather side up,
and the rubber side down.

Any of the Topeak or Blackburn floor pumps will serve you well. I have
a Blackburn TP3 and a Topeak Joe Blow. I find the TP3 more efficient
but the Topeak handle is easier to depress as the pressure climbs. I
find the head of the Topeak easier to use as well, but of course this
is a matter of personal preference.

P.S. I cannot see paying $100 for one of the fancier models.

I reach 120 psi on my Silca Super Pista with minimal effort, good wide base,
replacement parts are available. Not sure what you mean by inexpensive. My
Silca Pista lasted 17 years, it is now stored with an old road bike at my
parents for when I visit there. I expect a similar lifespan from the Super
Pista. With that kind of life expectancy $60 sounds pretty reasonable.

The Beto floor pump:

So boringly effective, that it's the unofficial pump of local roadies,
who normally can be sold any damn thing on the promise of ephemeral
performance gains or added coolness.

I have one, and . . . well, it's a floor pump. For home use, it's the
best price-performance out there.

Complaints? Better pumps put the floor gauge at the top of the body
instead of near the floor, where it is not easily read. But they do have
an adjustable arrow on the bezel so you can set your preferred pressure
and match needle to arrow. The pump is not nifty-looking or
super-overbuilt like some of the high-end floor pumps.

If the shipping works out for you, then just get one.

Easy to pump and high pressure require that the barrel be a small diameter.

Inexpensive: look for sale prices or returns at Performance, flea markets,
used bike shops. I often see good pumps for $20 or less.

Stable: Any floor pump with your foot on the base is going to be stable.

To me the most critical element of a pump is how easily and securely it
attaches and detaches from the stem. You don't want it to pop off while
you're pumping, especially as you go the the high pressures. You don't want
to have to hold the hose straight with one hand to keep it from leaking.

As I've recommended here many times, try a Performance Hurricane; but
only if there's a Performance store nearby. By virtue of their "no
questions asked" exchange policy I'm on my fifth (or so). They work
for a year or so and then something fails (usually the head develops a
leak past the piston that the lever actuates), so back to the
Performance store for a replacement pump.

I'm due for a new one right about now. It's nice that the L'ist of my
LBSes is Performance. :)
