Some of you think Floyd Landis is great. You may feel he is standing against the cycling world against all the pressure all in the name of doing the right thing. You may also feel that he is getting a bum rap and Armstrong is going to get what he deserves. Others are on the other side feeling like Floyd Landis is only doing this for himself and for selfish angry reasons and money. No matter what side you are on this whole situation is doing way more damage than it is helping. So much damage that we should all be angry about the whole thing!! No matter who you blame....here is a poll to say how you really feel. especially those who are angry...very very angry at Floyd Landis. Please vote!!

I was looking for a choice that reads, "Not willing to go gracefully when he knows everyone else in the competition was as guilty as him."

I must admit witnessing a person's public display of their emotional investment in an internet forum argument is not a pretty sight...

you can't just let things run their course, can you? nice structure to you poll--either you have to make landis an epic hero or give him the twirled handlebar moustache of the villain.

and is landis really ruining cycling all by himself? wholeheartedly YES! and landis has all those cyclists taking ped's just to help enhance his position.

I think those who are running cycling (UCI, especially Mr McQuaid) are doing a far better job of ruining cycling than anyone like Floyd could ever do.

The whole process behind dope controls and especially the subsequent sanctioning is a farce. If a rider pops out a positive control then it shouldn't take months or even years to follow up on this and get a final decision reached. Only in the case of an appeal, (like the Pechstein case where the Center for Hematology and Oncology at the University of Berlin proved hereditary spherocytosis and not blood manipulation as "proven" by "experts" who reviewed her bio-passport) where genuine scientific proof is required to show an alternate reason for the adverse findings, should the process take longer than 2 to 4 weeks following the B sample coming back non-negative. If riders can fly whereever to race, they can jump on a plane at a moments notice to explain their sorry as$es infront of the UCI at a moments notice or make like a few chunk of the world's businesses and conduct the interview over the phone or video conference. If Lance can twitter from his bike climbing Mr Tiede in Tenerife then Contador can face the UCI/WADA from an iPhone4 from a cattle farm in Spain.

Dragging cases out only leads to more collateral damage and speculation. There should only be one headline per case not several months of rumours, debate, witchhunts and tabloid titilation.

McQuaid is to public relations as Jabba the Hut was to bikini sales...

Nice line at the end... about bikini sales and all. Don't quite see your point... Bet you've been waiting a long time to use that one.

Anyhow, Flandis should be vilified for doping. He should also be congratulated for breaking the 'omerta' the sport's been under for far too long.

Did he dope? Yes. Would he like to see sport cleaned up? Maybe.

I'm always a bit nervous that these discussions will turn into some sort of fanboy battle where the LA supporters want to refute any doping in the sport at all, or at least in terms of 'his holiness'.

Nothing will change until the UCI gets gutted and replaced with people who are more interested in the sport rather than getting their cheques.

Nice try, but you should've known that you can't use facts in a fight against emotionally charged beliefs - you'll lose every time; and sarcasm will never be effective as they won't understand...Furthermore, attempting to use logic or reason is a waste of time...the 'Chicken Little's" of the United States will always sound the alarm when anything comes along that gives the appearance of possibly altering the status quo...

yeah, sure seems like you were in a jovial mood when you went off in three separate posts. of course you are under a lot of pressure what with the constant surveillance the government has you under. they're watching you very closely even now. you should double or even triple up on the foil hat, stormsgate. and use only reynolds brand aluminum foil--the world's leader in aluminum hat mind ray shields since your gran'pappy done fought agin the commie bastards whut wanted ta take away yer guns an' banjoes.

(now, really, whose sock puppet are you?)

    Landis has zero credibility.

I remember posting here in 2006 as the TDF stage was taking place and I said that Landis had doped. It was obvious given how well he rode that day.
Not surprisingly the dope test confirmed what we all saw during that stage.
Then we had two years of denials and false statements about how the dope result was a lie, how he had been framed, how he had drank whiskey or whatever other bollox
    he said.

Then he and/or his manager tried to blackmail Greg Lemond.

Then suddenly Landis sees the light and says he did dope after all/img/vbsmilies/smilies/biggrin.gif/img/vbsmilies/smilies/biggrin.gif/img/vbsmilies/smilies/biggrin.gif

He shouldn't have doped in the first place...............the rest is all, well, pointless.
