Driving back from Leeds to Birmingham tonight through some nasty fog, despite having
difficulty seeing rear car lights at a distance, I managed to see a cyclist with a single
light no problem at all.
I'm not sure if it is psychological and being a cyclist I'm more in tune to looking for cyclists? Or
maybe the fog "clouded" my judgement of distance and the cyclist was actually closer than I thought
whe I first spotted it?
Whatever the reason, it's a brave cyclist who uses the A38 when it's both foggy and dark.
I'm very pleased to say that the M6 Toll, which opened today, looked amazingly empty as I drove past
the A38/A5127 junction.
I haven't been back to Leeds for ages (left there in 1996). One of my fave bike shops has gone
(Freewheel/2 Wheels Good), but it brought back memories seeing the higher ratio of Road to MTB
machines than I'm used to in Bham.
Oh those were the days ...
I wonder if the brown/gold knackered folding bike is still rusting away in the station?
Love and t' hugs from Rich x
