    Dear Terry,

We all really like to see and fully respect intelligent criticism and oh
boy, do we all have our points of view. But wishing death and destruction
upon others is not really justifiable nor is it a proportional response from
your disproportionately sized brain. You crossed the line with me mate!

I really only meant to attract some intelligent conversation and a little
respect to this article. Not a half life such as your self!
Your pathetic response is really not a real surprise to us cyclists. I am
used to the unpleasant cries for attention by pathetic teenagers in cars. Is
    this where you belong?

What did you call me? Quote "a [censored] idiot"

The only real " f****** idiots" in this world are the small minded little
creatures such as your self with little or no vertebrae. We are exposed to
enough bloody violence in the world without trying to propagate more
through pathetic comments and statements such as yours which are totally
    unprovoked in the 1st place.

I think if BIG MAN terry would like to be part of this cycling forum or any
other forum in existence. Lets have terry see if he is capable of bringing
forward a point of discussion relevant to cycling. Something that's thought
provoking and original. But don't bother with just some pissy little
response to my reply mate......How predictable and pathetic that would be to
    us all!!

    But wait there's more!!

Your comment: "I hope you get run over real soon by someone" was disgusting.
    But when combined with
"Oh wait, that has already happened hasn't it?"

This unnecessary reply swells me with anger with the way you have used the
taking of someone else's life and paralleled it against the taking of my
own. How disrespectful to those relatives and friends of the deceased. How
disrespectful to the cycling community and internet community as a hole!
You really think you can go on in this forum under that name with any
    credibility to it.

I don't ever wont an apology from you, but you owe an apology to those who
have read the original text and this article!! How dare morons like your
self threaten free and creative thought. All I bloody did was raise the
awareness and existence of such technologies as we have the right to do!

So Terry. Think about this. Do you ever see a time when people will be
walking and riding while surfing the net. Because mate, that's a time you
    don't belong too!

    Yours NOT Sincerely

    Hammer

    PS

Thank you to those who do have something intelligent to discuss about my
article or anybody else's that appears on this forum. We should be open to
any form of discussion cycling wise or what ever, without the use of violent
    verbalisations used against us.

My thanks go to those who have tried to rationalise my view point to those
who are not so rational. I know who you are and you do too. I really do
enjoy reading your thoughts, discussions and views points on the world, as
    we all do

I liked the original reply about having heat seeker missiles with the head
up display glasses. Those babies always home in on hot air from over sized
    mouths.

    Yours Sincerely,

    Hammer

    Dear Mr Tool

I apologise for using the adjective "[censored]". Obviously you don't get
any as there are very few people with less active brain cells than
yourself. Keep hoping, you might get lucky.

I will now proceed to give you some very good reasons why surfing the
internet with a HUD whilst riding a bicycle is not a good idea.

    1) Increased chances of injuring yourself. Did you take in the post
about the rider that crashed the kerb at Glenelg and broke his leg?
Obviously if you are giving your attention to an internet page, you will
not see obstacles in time to take preventative action and you are going
to run into something and hopefully only hurt yourself. Should the rest
of us have to pay increased health/medical insurance because of morons
who can not pay attention to where they are going?

    2) Increased danger to pedestrians. Whether you like it or not, we are
stuck using a lot of the same paths as pedestrians. Riding around with
your head into a HUD surfing the net is a sure fired way to knock a few
of these pedestrians down. Pedestrians have clout compared to
bicyclists. Start knocking them down and you will find bicyclist being
banned from shared facilties. You will also find them starting to sue
you for damages, which is going to put bicycle insurance rates up.

    3) Increased chance of all bicyclists becoming road kill. Isn't it bad
enough that enough bicycle riders get murdered by motor vehicle drivers,
without you giving them another reason to not be held responsible? So
you want to hand them another excuse "but your Honor, he had a HUD and
was surfing the internet, so obviously he wasn't paying attention to his
surrounds and greatly contributed to his own injuries {even if I was
looking at my balls trying to get a number out of my mobile telephone)".

The current methods of using HUDs has obviously escaped your brain. They
are good for simple clear indicators. So yes, they might be good for the
"team director" (?) to send instruction to Fred to drop off the lead and
to let everyone know what speed he wants them to maintain. However, iIf
the technology can be developed to give good, consistent, reliable
mobile communications, it will most likely be used in the reverse
direction to allow each rider and to be monitored (HB, BP, speed,
    cadence, gear, power, etc).

    4) Microwave background radiation. Lets go back to the walkway at
Glenelg, or any popular walkway and imagine half those people with their
own personal HUD surfing the internet. That place is going to be awash
with electromagnetic radiation as each is going to require their own
patch of frequency to give them their own fast pipeline to surf the
internet. That should do wonders for your fertility.

Get real. The world is a brutal place. How many people do you think die
each day? Of course, you only beat your breast over the politically
correct ones, or is the "shock horro" ones from the newspaper, when
    thousands of others are ignored.

Community! You obviously have a NIMBY attitude to community.

So, have you written your letter against the IP part of the
US-Australian "Free" Trade agreement yet? And I don't think there was
anything creative about your post. It was boringly predicatable.

You are definitely correct there. The day I am so bored by going for a
bicycle ride that I have to be plugged into and surfing the internet
whilst doing it, then I will be looking around for the pistol to end my
life. Australia ia a beautful place and there is so much of it I am
still to see, preferrably from the back of a bicycle.

However, it may interest you to know that there are now bicycles
throughout the world that are plugged into the internet whenever they go
    out for a ride.

Be careful, you may get what you wish for.

  3. I was reading the original thread, The Terry Collins response seemed t
of had a sentence snipped out of it when it appeared on cycling forums

The thread on aus.bicycle contained the full posting. I am puzzled, wa
it pulled by the mods on CF for the sake of curtailing a flamewar

Reading it again in context was extremely distressing. I can understan
Hammers anger. Unfortunately it's not the first time I've read stuf
here of people wishing harm upon each other. (ie: aus.cars trolls etc

    peace
