Hello all,
The frame I was selling on u.r.c some time back is now up
for grabs again as a complete bike, having spent a little
cash and plundered the shed for the necessary bits! It's
ideal for a newcomer to 'cross, or someone looking to do a
bit of off-roading as a change from the norm or a bit of
fun, but with guards and the appropriate tyres is also good
for road use as a training and/or commuting bike. It's in
good condition overall, and the frame was resprayed (red) by
Dave Yates a couple of years ago. Spec is as follows;
Frame & fork: Columbus SL butted Cr-Mo throughout, handbuilt
by Edison of Clowne, Derbyshire. 58cm centre-to-centre, with
56cm top tube. Top tube cable routing (with pulley for bottom-
pull front mech), 2 pairs of bottle mounts (one cage already
fitted), seatstay bridge & fork crown tapped for mudguard
bolts (but needs P-clips for fork ends). Vertical rear
dropouts. Headset: Stronglight A9. Stem: ATAX polished
alloy, 10cm. Bars: Alloy, 42cm. Black sleeve, brand new
Ambrosio tape. Chainset: Sugino GT, 38/48 Biopace alloy
rings, 170mm cranks, Tange bottom bracket. Gears: Campag
Super Record braze-on front, Shimano TY22 rear (brand new),
Suntour bar-end shifters (ratchet, not index). Brakes:
Tektro cantilever (brand new), Weinmann non-aero levers with
quick-release. Saddle: Selle Italia Turbomatic 2, with
Selcof Mod. 50 alloy pillar. Wheels: 36h 700c Schurmann box-
section alloy on Sovos Q/R hubs, threaded rear with brand
new Shimano 14-24 freewheel. Schwalbe CX Pro Light 700 x 32
'cross tyres. Chain: SRAM PC68.
As you can see from the above, it's ready to go except for
pedals. As I've invested a fair bit of time and money into
the rebuild, the asking price is £180, or nearest offer
(buyer collects, I'm in the West Midlands). If interested,
e-mail me at [email protected].
