I ran with my 305 for the first time today, and the HRM, satellites,
and HR Zone work fine. My issue is that the TC always claims that it's
the first time that the 305 has been used with it and gStart recognizes
the 305 (I called it mini me, er, ohland), and it tries to fire up TC.
Which refuses to accept that I have a 305 in the cradle.
I have updated the 305 twice, where I see the LCD states "Loading"
and the program claims success. My 305 is useable, no problems.
Every time I place it into the cradle, it's detected, and it tells me
I must add the device. But I can't get TC to run...

The problem here Larry is the customer has 98SE there may be an issue
with the USB drivers being installed completely or at all. He can right
click on the g-start in his icon tray and exit it to shut it down. He
should have an icon for TC under Garmin in his Program Files list of the
start menu. He can launch TC from there he does not need g-start. If TC
has not seen and downloaded data from the unit yet, it has not created
the back up directory for the user, thus the message (missing
NEWDEV.DLL). He is going to have to go into the device manager and
verify the unit is seen as a Garmin device with no yellow (?) or (!). In
short he will need to do some basic USB Driver trouble shooting, if he
can it might be easier to call us and let someone in software do a
citrix with him. Trying to install the drivers on 98SE can be difficult
and may not work, 98SE and especially 98 had little to no USB support.
You might ask if he has access to another computer with a newer OS on
it. If you have any additional comments or questions, please do not
hesitate to contact us via email or call our customer service number

Software Version: 3.1.1
Problem:
I updated my 305 unit software with WebUpdater. Unit works fine.
# Unit Software
* Forerunner 305 Ver. 2.60 as of Mar 13, 2007 Download
Garmin Gstart detects my 305, but never accepts it. It identifies it by
name, yet never starts TC.
Trying to run TC 3.1.1 results in a message telling me it's the first
time running TC (which is true, it's hung a few times) but it never
detects the 305.
Now I'd like to update TrainingCenter from 3.1.1 to 3.2.3
Training Center For Windows Ver. 3.2.3 as of Mar 28, 2007 Download
But it displays an error message that it's missing NEWDEV.DLL and aborts
the update.
