of a Giro stage since Andy Hampsten (in 1988?). Tyler
Hamilton won a Giro ITT in 2002.

The real question: is this a sign that Fred is
developing into an uphill finish sprinter? Or was he
just on a good day?

Judging from what he had to say it was a tactic. You don't
suppose they'll let him do that two stages in a row, do you?
