Fried Mackerel with Sesame Seeds
1 3/4 lb. mackerel fillets
salt and freshly ground pepper
3 Tbsp. flour
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 eggs
Oil for frying
1 onion, cut into rings
1/2 cucumber, sliced on the diagonal
2 Tbsp. lightly toasted sesame seeds
12 lettuce leaves
Rinse the fish under cold water and dry; cut into 12 pieces; Rub the
fillet with some salt and pepper; In a small bowl, combine the eggs, flour
and cornstarch; Dip each fillet into this mixture and fry for a few
minutes in hot oil until golden; Serve hot as described above.
Serves 4.
