front derailler clamp?

I'm replacing worn out RSX with Shimano 105 on my old trek
1220. My front derailler requires a 34.9mm clamp. All I can
find is 21.8mm or 31.8mm. I noticed the clamp is removable
on the 105. Is there a larger replacement clamp available?
If not, what would be a good alternative?

If you're inclined toward Shimano, it's part # SH-SM-AD15 (1-3/8" adapter)
This clamp allows braze-on FD use on 34.9 mm tubing.
Your LBS should be able to get this for you, if you're on good terms with'em
(sometimes they won't bother with such a "small" order).

or I also found it, although pricier at:

'03 Campy Record Triple FD also fits the bill w/o an adapter
(69.99 @ Colorado Cyclist)

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the detail, but I'm confused on this application
as I don't have a braze on tube. Is it possible to use a
braze FD, coupled with this clamp adapter to get the right
size? I thought these adapters were just for broken tube
braze ons. Thanks

Im pretty certain that I have the clamp you need. A Sachs.
Extra nice. Contact me off list if interested. Be sure to
"remove this bit". GJ

A decent bike shop wil have these in stock all the time.

Exactly. Most derailleurs aren't offered in a 34.9mm clamp
size, so you use one of the adapters and bolt the derailleur
to that. They're used on brand new bikes all the time; their
main purpose is not to replace broken braze-on fittings
(although in a pinch they could certainly do so!).

You should have little trouble finding a shop with one of
the adapters, particularly a shop that does much road-
bike business.
