Dear All,
I am looking for a recommendation for a good quality front derailleur. It
has to be a clamp on to a 28.6 mm frame, triple rings 48/38/28 to 8 speed
freewheel.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Neil

Any suggestions?I've had good service out of my Shimano LX with that setup.

Deore LX is now only 9 speed and for mountain bikes. I have managed to find
a 2007 soara but 2008 soara is 9 speed. Have companies stoped supporting 8
speeds?

Deore LX has only ever been for mountain bikes, but it doesn't stop it
working on a tourer. :-) It does seem hard to find 7/8 speed stuff
these days. How about these:
