  1. I recently moved to Speedplay X2 pedals and new road shoes. They are immensely comfortable, with one exception...

I have noticed that after 10 miles or so I start getting a dull ache on the outside of my left foot. Starts just behind the small toe and extends to level with the start of my ankle. Its not a pain I can't bear - it kinda feels like a minor burning sensation. I have no such pain in the right foot.

I thought about various possible reasons, but none of them pan out. The shoes are not too tight (I have three velcro straps on the shoes and have tried tight to pretty loose). The Speedplays obviously provide full float. I feel no "unnatural" positioning of my leg or foot when pedeling. In short, everything seems fine - except the pain.

As I mentioned, it often starts about 10 miles into a ride but I can bear it no problem for another 30 miles (haven't been on a longer ride!).

    Any thoughts?

    Mark
