Although I will be sad to let it go, I have to sell my GT Aluminum Avalanche
(gray color), frame size large with the following components:
Manitou SX-R fork (red) Cane Creek headset Kooka stem XT Front derailleur seat post clamp Shimano
ES70 splined Bottom Bracket (I can also include the old UN52 square taper as well)Extra rear
derailleur hanger- never mounted
Frame has seen 3-4 seasons of use; it is a pre v-brake frame (I will also include a clamp-type cable
stop for use with v-brakes), and I have been the only owner. I'm guessing that is from 1994 or so,
back when GT made great bikes. All of this is sold "as is", I won't lie to you and say "nearly new",
or "hardly used". This bike was my main ride for three seasons and it has seen a lot of use; there
are scratches from cable rub and yes, I did crash it a few times. Some of the stickers are peeling
or rubbed off, and the rear chainstay has signs of chain slap. It is structurally sound, and has a
lot of life left in it. I am only selling it because I am building another bike, and really have no
room for any more bikes in my little house, as my wife will attest. This frame has excellent welds,
and is built to take anything you can dish out. The fork has only 2 seasons of riding on it; I
originally had a Marzocchi that was rather unreliable, and replaced it. I built and maintained this
bike myself, and it has never been abused or ridden off big drops, etc. This is a solid frame, and
if it doesn't sell here, I'll probably hang on to it and rebuild it again some day. I don't have a
digital camera, but I plan on taking the bike to a friend's house in a day or two and borrowing his
camera. Pics should be available then.
