I have a FSA K-Force carbon stem but it's missing the top cap. I noticed FSA has two versions of replacement top caps. 1) a compression sleeve type and 2) a star nut type. Which one is more secure and won't slip? Which one won't damage a carbon steerer tube? Which one is overall the better choice? Anyone have experience with this matter, please advice. Thanks in advance.

For carbon steerers, compression types (ie pressure plugs) are recommended so as not to damage the steerer column and in order not to crush it inside the stem, in the area where it is clamped. Star nuts are generally only used for alu or steel steerers. However, Cannondale has a special star nut for their carbon steerers; this is the exception to the rule.
