The FSA rings on my compact crankset are fine and they've seen more
than 10,000 miles already. The rings are 50/34.
Yesterday, I had occasion to install a new FSA Compact Pro crankset
for a friend. He gave me the chainrings from a Nashbar Compact
crankset.
I think that the FSA rings and the Nashbar "RPM" rings are, at a
minimum, made in the same factory. The printing fonts and letter
placement on the ring are the same. Exactly where the FSA is on that
ring the RPM is on the Nashbar ring. On the back of the 50t rings,
the pins and ramps are in the exact place and exactly the same shape.
On the stand, the Nashbar rings on Sugino Mighty cranks shifted as
quickly and smoothly as the FSA rings on the Compact Pro.
Threre must be other sources of these same rings?
The Nashbar crank itself looks like the Dimension Cranks that were
being sold not so long ago at cheap prices.
