Further on buying gear on the net

Well I am still not in possession of my goods and guess what? The company
gave me the wrong BSB on the invoice so my money went nowhere!
Yesterday I finally got a response from the online store (after sending my
last email 10days ago!) and they said they were still awaiting my money
which I sent on the 10th. I replied showing their original invoice and the
account and BSB number. Today miraculously my money is back in my account!
The only response this time was "sorry, I have forwarded your email onto the
boss - the BSB was wrong!!!!
Needless to say I now want to find another online store to buy my panniers
and a front rack (too far from LBS here and they are way overpriced anyway)
I did look at the 2 suggested stores offshore in my last query but neither
of them have panniers that I want. Any other suggestions?

Were these Ortliebs you were buying?

If so I've had very good service from www.unterwegs.biz They are a German
website, but many of their pages can be read in English. Prices worked out
at ~$360 for a full set of front and rear Orlieb Sport Classics. Be sure to
request that they take off from the price their German VAT. When they arrive
in Australia there will not be any GST or duty levied. nThis will cover the
freight nicely.

For another good supplier of Ortlieb and other nice touring gear you could
also try www.wallbike.com
They are a US store, in New Orleans and very helpful. They also have the
wonderful Tubus cromoly steel racks (very light too)

Look at the page on the left hand menu 'Rucksack, Tasche & Koffe' called 'Fahrradtasche'. When you go to this page you can click on the Union Jack logo to convert to English.

If you want to try Arkel panniers (www.arkel-od.com) , I've had nothing
but excellent service from Greenspeed at greenspeed.com.au - quick
response by phone or email, and fast delivery.

Arkels are for people who like lotsa pockets to put things in :)

Although the superceded (and therefore cheap) utility basket one I
just bought is pretty well pocket-free. Just has 2 side pockets, an
internal one and a top one, which for Arkel is pocket-free.

The new ones have a nicer quick=release mount than the commuter I
bought last year, Greenspeed sent me an updated mount for free.

Can anyone comment on his adapters for bikes without eyelets,
particularly the QR adapters?
