Hello!

Im a random industrial design student from Sweden. I just finished a project on how to allow bike+train combination travels, and I thought you might wanna discuss the idea with me? In Sweden its not possible to bring a bike on most trains, I'm not sure why actually, I guess our politicians don't like the idea. Is it possible where you live? Have you ever tried traveling with your bike on a train? Please discuss! I will try to get an opportunity to show this to the politicians in Sweden so I'd love to hear your ideas and experiences before talking to them.

Nice video.

In Sweden like everywhere else... the desire of politicians is to empower government [themselves].... not the average citizen or traveler. Allowing privately owned means of transportation... is something governments are currently looking at restricting. In Sweden... city governments could "rent" people bicycles at the train stations (and other public places). This would be something that could restrict peoples freedom to travel while also empowering governments [politicians].

In America, this is being done in Washington DC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-9qvr8EbVs

I guess you're right Dave. The whole point of my idea is that one should be able to start biking the second he/she gets off the train, without spending three minutes walking to a "Capital Bikeshare", but as you say, the politicians probably wouldn't want that. Which is why I need to know what you guys think before I go talk to them:)
