Garmin cheap GPS opinions

eTrex H has a better receiver that can pick up the signal more
reliably when in forests or canyons etc, so it's worth going for
(given it's the same price)

Avoid older second hand eTrex (older than about 8 months) as they only
store 1 route; more recent ones store 20. There is nothing in the
appearance that lets you tell the difference.

Also, don't discount the tiny Geko 201. (ignore the 101 due to lack of
computer connectivity).

If you can turn them on, you can establish the software version. IIRC,
newer Yellow Etrex have versions, without the route limit, have a version
above 3.0
