Hi,

I'm having some issues with my SRM not working properly at low cadences.

Here's an extract from a power file.

Time distance power cadence speed 176 0.83217 265 55 9.7092 177 0.83497 266 55 10.1268 178 0.83763 267 55 9.8352 179 0.84024 128 54 9.54 180 0.84288 129 53 9.5292 181 0.8456 245 53 9.5796 182 0.84834 261 52 9.7992 183 0.8512 307 52 10.26
At time 179 and 180, it's reading half what it should. The cadence is also coming from the SRM, so that suggests that it is picking up when the magnet passes the sensor.

Any ideas?

Is it having any real effect on your power metrics? How often are the low power readings happening? Which Garmin are you using? Is your Garmin firmware up to date?

It will be a problem with the Garmin...I had the exact same issue with my Garmin 810 and Quarq on my mountain bike...but worked perfectly with the Garmin 500. Gave up using the 810.

Bought some Vectors and they had the same issue with the 810 and had a good look at the Garmin forum and found lots had similar issues with various power meters.

So updated the firmware on the 810 and this fixed the halving power at low cadences issue. I would imagine your issue is the same.

No it has little effect atm as I'm just doing volume. It will be annoying when I come to some low cadence stuff though.

Sam, firmware is up to date, but I will borrow someone's PC7 and look into that. Cheers.

What sort of Garmin do you have??

Does it have Bluetooth enabled...Garmin is having problems with their Bluetooth especially if its enabled and not connected to anythiuhng.

If you are really keen have a look through this thread...don't know if there is a solution to your issue??
